Overview
Vivid Menu: Beyond Translation ("the App") is operated by Gengcong Yang. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We collect only what is necessary to operate the App.
Data We Collect
- Anonymous device identifier. On first launch, the App assigns you a random user ID (not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID) that persists on-device. It is used solely to track your Discovery Point balance and subscription status.
- Usage quota data. Your Discovery Point balance, subscription status, and approximate usage are stored in a cloud database keyed to your anonymous ID.
- Feedback you submit. If you choose to send feedback through the App, your message, anonymous user ID, app version, and submission timestamp are stored in our cloud database. Feedback is used only to improve the App.
- Menu images. When you scan a menu, the image is sent to a third-party AI service for analysis. Images are not stored by us.
- Purchase information. In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We receive only a transaction receipt to verify your purchase; we do not receive your payment details.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, or Apple ID
- Your location
- Any advertising or tracking identifiers
- Any health or financial data
Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services for anonymous authentication, cloud data storage, AI-powered menu analysis, and in-app purchase processing. These services receive only the data necessary to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
Quota and feedback records are retained indefinitely to maintain service continuity. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the address below.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because we use anonymous identifiers only, no data is linked to a child's identity.
Changes to This Policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
